WHY THIS MATTERS
Getting a diagnosis is only half the story
In Ireland, only a Consultant Psychiatrist can initiate a new prescription for stimulant medication. Your GP cannot prescribe Ritalin, Vyvanse, or Concerta for the first time they can only continue a prescription a psychiatrist has already started.
If you were diagnosed by a psychologist, you may be holding a valid report with no clear route to medication. At Vera, our Consultant Psychiatrist can review your existing diagnosis and initiate a prescription without requiring you to start from scratch.

THE PROCESS
From diagnosis to prescription
1
€220 per appointment
(Typically one appointment every 4 weeks during titration)
During the first stages of titration, prescriptions are generally issued for approximately 28 days, so most patients will require one follow-up appointment around every 4 weeks.
(After three titration appointments, any additional titration appointments will cost €150)
2
Ongoing prescription
(Repeat Prescription)
We provide a shared care letter so your GP can take over repeat prescriptions. Alternatively, we provide monthly repeat prescriptions with a brief review in every 12 months.
€25
Shared care letter included
Medication dose adjustments, changes to your titration plan, and individual clinical advice cannot be provided by the administrative team. These require a follow-up appointment with your prescribing psychiatrist so that your response to treatment, side effects, and current symptoms can be reviewed safely.
