Service Description

Couples Therapy is a structured, confidential, and evidence-based psychological service designed to support partners in improving communication, resolving difficulties, strengthening emotional connection, and navigating relationship challenges in a constructive and collaborative manner. The process focuses on understanding relational patterns rather than assigning blame, and aims to foster healthier interaction styles and mutual understanding. Areas Commonly Addressed Couples therapy may support partners experiencing: - Communication difficulties or frequent conflict - Emotional distance or loss of connection - Trust concerns or relational ruptures - Stress related to life transitions (e.g., relocation, work demands, family changes) - Differences in needs, expectations, or values - Intimacy or closeness concerns - Decision-making disagreements - Adjustment to shared responsibilities or roles Therapeutic Approach Interventions are tailored to the couple’s specific dynamics and goals. - Evidence-based approaches may include: - Structured communication frameworks - Conflict resolution strategies - Emotion-focused techniques - Cognitive-behavioural relational interventions - Psychoeducation on relationship patterns and attachment styles Clinical Principles Couples therapy is conducted in line with professional ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines. The therapist’s role is to support the relationship system as a whole, not to take sides. Where individual support or additional services are clinically indicated, appropriate recommendations will be discussed.
