Service Description

The Initial Consultation is a comprehensive first appointment designed to gain a clear understanding of the client’s current concerns, psychological needs, background, and goals for support. This session provides the foundation for clinical formulation, treatment planning, and recommendations tailored to the individual. What the Session Includes During the consultation, the psychologist conducts a structured clinical discussion covering: - Presenting concerns and current difficulties - Relevant psychological, medical, and personal history - Emotional wellbeing, stress levels, and coping patterns - Sleep, lifestyle, and daily functioning - Interpersonal and occupational functioning - Previous therapy or treatment experiences - Current goals and expectations from therapy Where clinically appropriate, brief screening tools may be used to clarify symptoms or guide further assessment needs. Clinical Purpose The Initial Consultation is not a full assessment or diagnosis session. Instead, it is designed to ensure that care is appropriate, targeted, and ethically delivered. If specialized assessment or multidisciplinary input is indicated, this will be discussed and arranged collaboratively.
